The Feile Strokestown Flute Forum offers a rare glimpse into the playing of some of Roscommon’s finest exponents of the flute. The players will demonstrate and talk about what makes Roscommon flute playing so distinctive and also so popular amongst flute players the world over. The panel will also take questions from audience members and this promises to be a hugely popular event unique to Feile Strokestown.

Flute player, author, archivist, founder member of the Castle Céilí Band in Howth, and raconteur without compare, Mick O’Connor will be presenting an audio-visual presentation on North Connaught Flute players and hosting the flute forum along with Patsy Hanly, John Carlos and Tommy Guihen. Mick was the 2016 TG4 Gradam Ceoil award winner for his Outstanding Contribution to traditional music and this promises to be a most informative and entertaining event.
